Iran has concluded six days of nationwide funeral ceremonies for the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with his burial taking place amid renewed regional tensions and heightened security across the Middle East.

The funeral proceedings, attended by senior Iranian officials, military commanders, religious leaders, and mourners from across the country, marked the end of an extended period of national mourning. The ceremonies were held in several cities before the final burial.

Meanwhile, the security situation in the region remained fragile. Despite concerns over a possible escalation, there were no reports of fresh overnight military strikes.

Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz also continued, with commercial oil tankers maintaining transit through the strategically vital waterway, a key route for global energy supplies.

Separately, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz, reaffirming that the international waterway remains open to global navigation under international law.
