General Voting for Iraqi Parliamentary Elections Begins Across Iraq and Kurdistan Region

Voting for the Iraqi Council of Representatives elections commenced at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, across the Kurdistan Region and all provinces of Iraq, with more than 20 million citizens eligible to cast their ballots.

According to the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), a total of 20,063,773 voters have the right to participate in the election process. The Commission has set up 8,703 polling centers and 39,285 voting stations nationwide to facilitate the general vote.

The IHEC confirmed that the voting process will continue until 6:00 p.m., with no extensions permitted, as electronic ballot boxes will automatically close at the designated time.

The initial results of the parliamentary elections are expected to be announced within 24 hours of the vote’s conclusion, during a press conference organized by the Commission, according to its spokesperson.
