PUK Dispatches Delegation to Turkey for Talks on PKK
ERBIL - A delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is traveling to Turkey for talks on their collaborations against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), a security source said on Wednesday evening.

Talking to BasNews on condition of anonymity, the source said that Ankara's aim in the discussions with the Kurdish delegates will be to ask the PUK to end its ties with the PUK.

Earlier in October, after a few meetings between the officials from the two sides, including Barham Salih, who also serves as the Iraqi President, and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the PUK shut down all of the headquarters of the Tevgeri Azadi, which is affiliated with the PKK, in Sulaimaniya province.

Turkey, in return, lifted the flight ban on Sulaimaniya Airport.

Bakhtiyar Talabani, a political commentator, told BasNews at the time that Ankara will pressure the PUK to restrict PKK's presence in the province of Sulaimaniya.
