ERBIL — King Abdullah II of Jordan and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian arrived on Monday in Baghdad.

According to media reports from Iraq, King Abdullah is scheduled to meet with Iraqi leaders and discuss closer military and intelligence coordination for border security, as well as stronger economic ties between the two countries.

The French minister is also in Baghdad to discuss the war on the Islamic State (IS) and the US withdrawal from Syria.

It was not immediately confirmed if Le Drian would visit Erbil or if his trip ends in Baghdad.
