Al-Hilal Qamishli Sign Kurdish International Noor Rezan Mustafa Ahead of Historic WAFF Women’s Clubs Championship Debut

Syria’s reigning women’s club champions, Al-Hilal Qamishli, have strengthened their squad by signing Kurdish professional striker Noor Rezan Mustafa ahead of the third edition of the WAFF Women’s Clubs Championship.

Al-Hilal Qamishli, winners of the last three Syrian Women’s Premier League titles, will make their debut in the regional competition as Syria’s representative, marking the first time a Syrian women’s club has participated in the tournament.

Mustafa, 24, arrives with extensive international club experience, having played for Eskilstuna United, West Ham United Women, Le Havre AC, Hibernian W.F.C., and Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Ittihad Women and Al-Shoulla Women.

Born on November 29, 2001, in Eskilstuna, Sweden, Mustafa is of Kurdish origin, with her family tracing their roots to the Kurdish town of Sarê Kaniyê (Ras al-Ain) in northeastern Syria. Standing 184 cm tall, she plays as a centre-forward.

In 2019, Mustafa participated in a training camp with Sweden’s women’s under-18 national team. She later chose to represent Syria internationally and, in 2024, captained the Syria women’s national team at the eighth WAFF Women’s Championship in Saudi Arabia, making her senior international debut.

The WAFF Women’s Clubs Championship, organized by the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), is the premier women’s club competition in West Asia. The tournament brings together league champions from across the region, providing clubs with valuable international experience while promoting the growth and visibility of women’s football throughout the Middle East.
