ERBIL — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani joined thousands of runners to take part in the 8th Erbil International Marathon on Friday in the capital city.

Barzani told reporters that his participation is in line with his ambition to help the environment which is the message of this year’s event.

“I hope such events bring the awareness for preservation of our environment,” the president added.

The 8th Erbil International Marathon was attended by nearly 5,000 runners, including over 350 foreigners and several officials.
