ERBIL - Kurdish prominent leader Masoud Barzani received on Monday the Iraqi Defence Minister Najah al-Shimariin in Erbil.

Barzani, who previously served as the president of Kurdistan Region, and Shimariin shed light on the latest political developments in Iraq, according to a statement by Barzani's office.

They further talked about the Erbil-Baghdad relations, the press release added.

The pair also exchanged their views on the security affairs in the region, including the Islamic State (IS) possible resurgence in the liberated territories.
