ERBIL - Israel will continue to carry out airstrikes against the Iranian targets in Iraq in order to thwart alleged plans to harm its security, a report said on Thursday.

"Israel has expanded its area of ​​control against the Iranian presence in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq," al-Sharq al-Awsat Newspaper quoted sources from Tel Aviv, as cited by Iraqi News.

"The Iranians’ insistence on achieving their goal against Israel has made us more determined to abort their plan, so what started in Syria will extend to Iraq," another security source told Israel Hayom Newspaper.

Israel has conducted airstrikes against the Iranian targets in Syria and other countries in the region hundreds of times.
