ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) released a statement to “condemn in the strongest possible term” the shooting incident on Wednesday in Erbil that killed a Turkish diplomat and a civilian.

“We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims,” reads a statement by the KRG.

It said thorough investigations were underway to find and prosecute the perpetrators of the shooting.

“No one will be allowed to harm the security and stability of Kurdistan Region,” the statement concluded.

Erbil Directorate of Asayish (Security) said earlier in an official statement that another person was injured in the shooting.
