ERBIL — Turkish troops and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters clashed on Saturday in southeastern province of Hakkari, which left one Turkish soldier killed.

Local media reports said the soldier was severely injured and he succumbed to his wounds later at a hospital.

Turkish military in a statement by Hakkari governor confirmed the report.

Turkey and PKK are in armed conflict for more than 30 decades over the right of Kurds in Turkey.

They enjoyed a two-year ceasefire before it collapsed in July 2015.
