Iraq, Iran Seek Kurdistan's Help to Find Victims of the Eight-year War
ERBIL - Iran and Iraq are seeking the Kurdistan Region's assistance in finding the bodies of the victims of the Eight-year War between the two countries which occurred in the 1980s, an official said.

Officials from the Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal with their Iraqi and Iranian counterparts have met and discussed the subject of discovering several mass graves in Iraq which are believed to have been located in the Kurdistan Region's border areas, Baravan Hamdi, the head of the ministry's directorate, told BasNews.

The Iranian officials revealed that the fate of about 23,000 bodies of their soldiers has so far remained unclear.

"In return, we have demanded help from them in exhuming the mass graves of the Yezidis in Sinjar and other areas," Hamdi said.
