ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Parliament is likely to vote on the new government cabinet before its summer recess begins on 1st July, said a lawmaker.

Prime Minister-designate Masrour Barzani has already begun talks with political parties to conclude the formation of the cabinet. He has 30 days (12 June - 12 July) to send his cabinet structure to the legislative.

MP Reving Harouri told BasNews that the government-formation talks are likely to conclude in the nearest future, and the parliament will vote on that before 1st July, when the summer recess of the parliament begins for 60 days.

He noted that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is also about to submit the list of ministerial candidates within the designed timeline.

Barzani met with PUK, Change Movement (Gorran) and Kurdistan Socialist Democratic Party last week to discuss the issue. He is holding similar meetings in Erbil with the Turkmen and Christian parties.
