ERBIL — Turkish warplanes bombarded the vicinity of Kurdish villages in north of Sulaymaniyah province, Kurdistan Region, on Tuesday.

The attacks allegedly were targeting the positions of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), but they have caused panic among the residents of the area.

Kamaran Hassan, Mayor of Mawat town, confirmed the report to BasNews and said the surrounding of Galala village near Mount Assos was targeted during Tuesday’s airstrikes.

He confirmed that the bombardment has brought damage to the agricultural lands, but no casualties were reported.
