ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received US Consul General Steve Fagin on Sunday in Erbil to discuss a range of issues related to security and political developments in Kurdistan, Iraq, and the wider region.

Barzani and Fagin exchanged views about the ongoing efforts to eradicate the Islamic State (IS), as well as required measures to secure Mosul and other liberated areas.

They also talked about the restoration of Kurdistan Region Presidency earlier this month which is preparing the ground for the election of a new president and the formation of the new government.

Relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the remaining disputes between the regional and central governments were also discussed.
