Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Liu Jun, the outgoing Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region, on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure.

During the meeting, Barzani thanked Liu for his efforts to strengthen relations between China and the Kurdistan Region across various sectors and wished him success in his future endeavors.

Liu expressed his gratitude to the Kurdistan Region Presidency and relevant institutions for their cooperation and support during his tenure, reaffirming China’s commitment to further developing bilateral relations.

The two sides also discussed prospects for expanding mutual cooperation. Barzani welcomed China’s efforts to deepen cultural and educational ties, expressing particular appreciation for the establishment of a Kurdish-language department at Beijing Foreign Studies University.
