Warmawa–Darbandikhan Dual Carriageway Project Continues

Intensive work continues on the strategic Warmawa–Darbandikhan road project, with just over a quarter (27 percent) of work now complete.

Workers will excavate 2.1 million m3 and fill 900,000 m3, before constructing three dual-carriageway concrete bridges, 16 large culverts, 44 small culverts, and 600 m of retaining walls (to improve road stability and durability).

The road connecting the cities of Slemani, Darbandikhan, Kalar, and Kfri will then become a full dual carriageway that extends for 31.6 km (with each carriageway 8.5 m in width).

This will improve road infrastructure, enhance public safety, and facilitate connectivity (most notably by promoting smooth traffic flow).

The KRG (Kurdistan Regional Government) sees improved road infrastructure as a priority, and it is fully committed to related work (including this project) across the Kurdistan Region (KR).
