Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Lami, Head of Iraq’s Federal Commission of Integrity, and his accompanying delegation to discuss cooperation between federal and regional integrity institutions.

The meeting, attended by Dr. Ahmed Anwar, Head of the Kurdistan Region Integrity Commission, focused on strengthening coordination between the Federal Integrity Commission and relevant authorities in the Kurdistan Region.

Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining the independence of integrity institutions and strengthening their role in upholding the rule of law and combating corruption.

President Nechirvan Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to provide the necessary cooperation and coordination with the Federal Integrity Commission and judicial authorities to uphold the law, protect institutional independence and preserve the authority of the judiciary.

For his part, Al-Lami thanked the relevant authorities in the Kurdistan Region for their continued and constructive cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission and other federal institutions.
