Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Masoud Barzani on receiving the prestigious Papal Medal of Appreciation from His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.

In a message marking the occasion, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani praised President Barzani as a symbol of peace and coexistence and a steadfast defender of the religious and national rights of all communities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The Prime Minister said President Barzani represents a continuation of the “sacred and blessed legacy of Barzan” and embodies the values of integrity, nobility, and humanity, making him deserving of such recognition and honor.

“President Barzani, as a symbol of peace and coexistence, and a faithful defender of the religious and national rights of all communities in Kurdistan and Iraq, represents a continuation of the sacred and blessed Barzan legacy,” the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also expressed confidence that the Kurdistan Region, under President Barzani’s leadership, would continue to serve as an important center and a shining beacon of peaceful coexistence for the region and the wider world.
