Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent drone attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region, including the private office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the residence of the head of the Region’s security agency in Pirmam.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a clear violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, rejecting hostile actions targeting political figures, Iraqi state institutions and efforts aimed at undermining the country’s security and stability.

Riyadh also reaffirmed its opposition to interference in the internal affairs of states and violations of their sovereignty, stressing the importance of respecting good-neighborliness and international law.

Qatar also condemned the attacks on Prime Minister Barzani’s office and the residence of the Kurdistan Region’s security chief, describing them as a flagrant violation of Iraq’s and the Kurdistan Region’s sovereignty and a breach of international law.

Doha called for efforts to protect the region from the consequences of what it described as unjustified attacks and urged all parties to reduce tensions through dialogue and diplomatic engagement. Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and expressed support for measures aimed at safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and security.

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry likewise condemned the attacks, describing them as an unacceptable assault on Iraq’s sovereignty, security and stability.

Amman reaffirmed its solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and voiced support for efforts aimed at protecting the country’s security, stability, territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The coordinated regional condemnations came a day after two drones targeted Prime Minister Barzani’s private office and the residence of the Kurdistan Region’s security agency chief in Pirmam, near Erbil.

According to the Kurdistan Region’s Counter Terrorism Directorate, the drones were launched from Iranian territory. No casualties were reported.
