Pakistan Condemns Houthi Attack After Three Nationals Killed in Red Sea

Pakistan has strongly condemned an attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea after at least three Pakistani nationals were killed and another was injured.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, said on Wednesday that Islamabad extended its condolences to the families of the victims and described the attack as a serious threat to international maritime security.

“Pakistan strongly condemns the Houthi attack on a non-combatant commercial vessel,” Dar said in a post on X. He added that such attacks endanger innocent lives, violate international law, and threaten freedom of navigation and the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Dar said Pakistan's Foreign Ministry was in contact with authorities in Saudi Arabia and Yemen to obtain further details about the incident. Meanwhile, the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh is coordinating efforts to retrieve and repatriate the remains of the three deceased Pakistani nationals.
