The KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy is pleased to announce that over 900,000 public sector employees have now received bank cards through the KRG’s financial inclusion programme, MyAccount.

The MyAccount initiative was announced by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in 2023 as part of the ninth cabinet’s agenda to increase financial inclusion and improve access to retail banking.

This follows the recent notice from Baghdad regarding the suspension of cash salaries. The KRG encourages all remaining beneficiaries to complete their registration and collect their bank cards as soon as possible to avoid any salary interruption.

Participating banks have also installed nearly 700 ATMs across the Kurdistan Region, with the number expected to exceed 1,000 by the end of the programme.
