Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Holly Vare, the newly appointed British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, in Erbil.

During the meeting, President Barzani congratulated Vare on her appointment and wished her success in her new position. He reaffirmed that the institutions of the Kurdistan Region are ready to support her efforts to further strengthen and deepen relations between the United Kingdom and the Kurdistan Region across a range of areas.

Vare expressed her pleasure at meeting President Barzani and at beginning her new assignment in the Kurdistan Region. She emphasized her commitment to expanding cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Kurdistan Region across various sectors.

The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider Middle East, as well as ways to further build on the longstanding relationship and cooperation between the two sides.
