Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Serdar Yüksel, a Member of the German Parliament, during a meeting focused on bilateral relations, regional developments, and continued cooperation between Germany, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, President Barzani expressed his appreciation to the German government and parliament for their continued support for the Kurdistan Region, particularly during difficult periods and in the fight against terrorism. He also praised Yüksel for his contributions to supporting the Kurdistan Region across various sectors.

Yüksel thanked President Barzani for the warm reception and said he was pleased to meet with the Kurdistan Region’s president. He also commended Barzani’s role in maintaining the Kurdistan Region’s standing, as well as promoting peace and stability both within the Region and in the wider region.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest political and security developments in the region and discussed opportunities to further strengthen relations and cooperation between Germany, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.
