Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani separately received Radu Butum, the departing Head of the European Union Liaison Office in Erbil, on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in the Kurdistan Region.

During his meeting with Mr. Butum, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his appreciation for the efforts made throughout his tenure to strengthen relations between the European Union and the Kurdistan Region. The President thanked him for his contributions to advancing cooperation and wished him continued success in his future endeavors.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also praised Mr. Butum’s role in enhancing ties between the Kurdistan Region and the member states of the European Union. He thanked the outgoing Head of the EU Liaison Office for his commitment to fostering closer cooperation during his mission.

For his part, Mr. Butum expressed his sincere gratitude to President Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and the relevant institutions of the Kurdistan Regional Government for their support, cooperation, and close coordination, which contributed to the success of his mission.

He reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with the Kurdistan Region and expanding cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
