Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani attended the funeral of the late Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in Doha, joining regional and international leaders, as well as senior officials, in paying their respects. Upon his arrival, President Barzani was received by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.

On behalf of himself and the people of the Kurdistan Region, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his sincere condolences to His Highness the Emir of Qatar, the Al Thani family, and the people of Qatar over their loss.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani thanked President Nechirvan Barzani for attending the funeral and expressed his appreciation for the condolences and solidarity extended by the Kurdistan Region to the State of Qatar during this time of mourning.
