Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani has extended his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, following the passing of the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

In a message posted on X, Barzani also expressed his condolences to the Al Thani family and the people of Qatar, offering solidarity during this period of mourning.

He described the late Father Amir as a prominent leader whose vision and leadership contributed significantly to Qatar’s development and to strengthening the country's role on both the regional and international stages. Barzani said Sheikh Hamad’s achievements and lasting contributions would remain a source of appreciation and respect.

Barzani also expressed solidarity with the State of Qatar in its loss and prayed that Almighty God grant the late Father Amir His infinite mercy while giving patience and comfort to his family and the Qatari people.

He concluded his message with the Quranic verse: “Indeed, to God we belong, and to Him we shall return.”
