Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has congratulated Kurdish boxing star Agit Kabayel after he became the first Kurdish boxer to hold the World Boxing Council (WBC) Heavyweight World Championship.

In a post published on X, Prime Minister Barzani wrote: "I congratulated champion Agit Kabayel on becoming the first Kurdish WBC World Heavyweight Champion."
