US-Iran Peace Talks in Switzerland Postponed After Vance Delays Trip
Planned peace talks between United States and Iranian delegates scheduled for Friday in Switzerland have been postponed, according to the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
The meeting was expected to bring together representatives from Washington and Tehran to discuss the implementation of a recently agreed 14-point framework aimed at easing tensions and advancing diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
Swiss officials confirmed that the talks would not take place as scheduled and said that no new date has yet been announced.
The delay comes after US Vice President JD Vance postponed a planned trip to Switzerland. The White House attributed the postponement to logistical issues affecting the vice president’s travel arrangements.
The cancellation has raised uncertainty over the immediate future of the negotiations, which were viewed as an important step toward implementing commitments made under the 14-point agreement.
Neither US nor Iranian officials have indicated when the talks may be rescheduled. Swiss authorities, who have been facilitating the diplomatic process, said they remain prepared to host future discussions once a new date is agreed upon by both sides.
