U.S. Presidential Special Envoy for Iraq and Syria, Tom Barrack, arrived in Baghdad on Monday for a high-level diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening relations between the United States and Iraq.

Barrack is expected to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and deliver a message of support from U.S. President Donald Trump to Iraq’s newly formed government. Discussions will focus on enhancing security cooperation, economic partnerships, and regional stability.

Following talks in Baghdad, Barrack will travel to Erbil for meetings with Kurdish leaders, including Nechirvan Barzani. The visit is expected to address coordination between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region, as well as broader issues related to security, energy, and governance.
