Iran Warns of Stronger Response as Israel Pauses Strikes Following Trump's Ceasefire Push

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has warned that any further Israeli aggression or what it described as "malicious acts," including military operations in southern Lebanon, would provoke a significantly harsher and more crushing response from Tehran.

The warning came as Israel reportedly decided to halt its strikes against Iran following the announcement. An Israeli official said the decision was made at the request of US President Donald Trump, while emphasizing that Israel would continue its military campaign against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

According to Israeli media reports, President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held two phone conversations on Monday. The first call took place shortly after Iran launched a wave of ballistic missiles toward Israel, which Tehran described as retaliation for Israeli military actions in Lebanon.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump stated that both Israel and Iran were seeking an immediate ceasefire. He added that final negotiations aimed at achieving peace were underway and that the blockade would remain fully in force until a final agreement was reached.

"Final negotiations on 'Peace' are proceeding and the Blockade will remain in place, and in full force and effect, until a 'Final Deal' is reached," Trump wrote.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that safeguarding Iran's national security remains the country's top priority amid ongoing regional tensions.

In a related development, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism about the diplomatic process, stating that the "final objective" in peace negotiations between Iran and the United States was close to being achieved.
