Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani has defended the significance of the Peshmerga's weapons, describing them as a symbol of the force's history, sacrifices, and enduring commitment to the people of Kurdistan.

In a statement issued amid ongoing political discussions surrounding the Peshmerga and its arms, Barzani criticized what he called "incorrect interpretations" and "misguided views" regarding the issue.

He stressed that the Peshmerga was born from the blood, suffering, and tears of the people of Kurdistan, and that its weapons carry a meaning far beyond their military function.

"The Peshmerga's weapons are not merely pieces of iron, an arsenal, or tools of combat," Barzani said. "They represent the Peshmerga's history, sacrifices, dignity, and creed."

Barzani added that the weapons also symbolize the force's loyalty and commitment to defending its people, land, and homeland, emphasizing the deep historical and emotional significance they hold for the Kurdish nation.
