President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, extended his congratulations to Patriotic Union of Kurdistan President Bafel Jalal Talabani, the party’s leadership, members, and supporters on the anniversary of the party’s founding.

In a message released on the occasion, Barzani praised the PUK’s historical role in defending the rights of the people of Kurdistan and acknowledged the sacrifices made by thousands of martyrs. He also paid tribute to the legacy and contributions of the late Kurdish leader Jalal Talabani, widely known as Mam Jalal.

Barzani emphasized that the PUK has remained a significant and influential force in the political life of both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. He stressed the importance of shared responsibility, unity, and cooperation among all political parties and entities to safeguard the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region and protect the rights of its people.

The Kurdistan Region President expressed hope that the anniversary would serve as an opportunity to strengthen national unity and promote dialogue and mutual understanding in addressing challenges facing the region.

He concluded by underscoring the need for continued efforts to ensure stability, development, and a brighter and more dignified future for the people of Kurdistan.
