Kurdish Leaders Call for Unity and Peace in Eid al-Adha Messages

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Kurdish leaders issued messages of congratulations and unity on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, emphasizing peace, political cooperation, and solidarity across the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider Muslim world.

President Masoud Barzani extended his greetings to Muslims worldwide, while paying tribute to the families of martyrs, the Peshmerga forces, and the people of Kurdistan. In his message, he stressed the importance of overcoming political divisions in the Kurdistan Region and urged political parties to place the interests of the people above partisan goals.

Barzani called on political forces to meet after Eid in a “sincere and patriotic spirit” to resolve the ongoing political deadlock and ease tensions in the Region. He described unity and responsible dialogue as both a moral and national duty, expressing hope that the holiday would mark the beginning of political progress, stability, and peace.

Nechirvan Barzani also congratulated Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq, and around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. He prayed for blessings, happiness, and a peaceful holiday for all families and wished Kurdish pilgrims a safe return from Hajj.

In his statement, Nechirvan Barzani highlighted the values of tolerance, freedom, reconciliation, and compassion, encouraging people to use the occasion as an opportunity to strengthen unity and goodwill in society.

Meanwhile, Masrour Barzani extended Eid greetings to Muslims worldwide, particularly honoring the Peshmerga, security forces, and the families of martyrs and victims of the Anfal genocide.

Masrour Barzani expressed hope that Eid al-Adha would bring peace and stability to Kurdistan, the region, and the world, wishing citizens happiness and prosperity during the holiday.
