Nechirvan Barzani Grants Lieutenant Rank to 210 Military Graduates, Approves Promotions for Asayish Officers
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Nechirvan Barzani signed two presidential decrees on Tuesday granting military ranks and approving promotions for officers serving in the Kurdistan Region’s security institutions.
According to a statement published by the Kurdistan Region Presidency and delivered by presidential spokesperson Dilshad Shahab, President Barzani, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Peshmerga Forces, granted the rank of lieutenant to 210 officers graduating from Qalachwalan Military College III.
In a separate decree, the president also approved the promotion of 95 officers serving within the Kurdistan Region Security Institution, also known as the Asayish General Directorate.
The Presidency stated that both decrees took effect immediately upon being signed.
