US Warns Iran Over Shipping Threats in Strait of Hormuz as Ceasefire Holds

The United States military has issued a renewed warning that it will protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz against any potential Iranian attacks, stating that any targeting of vessels would trigger a “devastating” response.

Despite the strong warning, US officials emphasized that the current ceasefire arrangement remains in place and has not been terminated.

Tensions have risen after Iranian officials signaled readiness for a prolonged standoff in the region. Earlier, Iran’s lead nuclear negotiator suggested that Tehran is prepared to maintain its position amid escalating maritime and diplomatic pressure.

International concern intensified following reports of an attack on the Fujairah oil hub in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, an incident widely criticized by world leaders. Iran has neither confirmed nor denied involvement in the incident.
