Iran Says Distrust With US Hindering Peace Efforts
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday that deep mistrust between Tehran and Washington remains the main obstacle to ending the ongoing conflict with the United States.
Araghchi accused the US of sending mixed signals during negotiations, saying the lack of confidence between the two sides continues to complicate diplomatic efforts.
US State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott described the discussions between the two sides as “highly productive” and said further negotiations are scheduled for early June, with military talks set to take place at the Pentagon later this month.
