Donald Trump said Washington expects a formal response from Tehran by Friday night Eastern Time regarding a proposed framework aimed at launching negotiations to end the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

According to media reports, U.S. and Iranian officials are working toward finalizing a memorandum that would establish the basis for a month-long round of talks focused on de-escalation and a possible path toward ending the war.

Trump stated that the proposed arrangement could open the door for direct diplomatic engagement after weeks of heightened military tensions in the region. He added that the White House was waiting for Tehran’s final position before deciding on the next steps.

Meanwhile, Qatar has urged both sides to engage seriously in mediation efforts and avoid further escalation. Qatari officials stressed the importance of diplomacy and regional stability, calling for dialogue to prevent a wider conflict in the Gulf.
