Kurdistan Region President Holds Key Diplomatic Meetings at Antalya Diplomacy Forum
On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Antalya, the President of the Kurdistan Region held separate meetings with Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Iran, and Hamish Falconer, UK Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
During the meeting with Khatibzadeh, discussions focused on the regional situation and the repercussions of ongoing conflicts. Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, promoting dialogue, and fostering mutual understanding to prevent further escalation and to safeguard peace, stability, and security across the Middle East.
Relations between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Iran were also discussed. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In a separate meeting, the Kurdistan Region President held talks with Falconer on strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the United Kingdom. Discussions also covered recent political developments and the ongoing government formation processes in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Both sides highlighted that unity and solidarity among Kurdistani political parties are essential to protecting past achievements and addressing current challenges.
The meeting also addressed the volatile regional situation and the consequences of ongoing conflicts, particularly developments in Syria. The UK Minister of State commended the Kurdistan Region President for his constructive role in supporting peace and stability in Iraq and Syria.
Both sides agreed that regional issues must be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means, stressing the importance of preventing further escalation and maintaining stability across the region.
