On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Antalya, the President of the Kurdistan Region met with Ahmed al‑Sharaa, President of the Syria, to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations.

The meeting focused on strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Syria, particularly in the fields of economic and trade cooperation. The two sides also reviewed the latest regional developments and the broader implications of ongoing conflicts in the region. Both parties emphasized the importance of regional coordination and cooperation to prevent threats to peace and stability.

Discussions also addressed the situation in Syria, particularly regarding the Kurdish population and other communities within the country. The Kurdistan Region President expressed appreciation to President al-Sharaa and the Syrian government for their efforts toward resolving the conflict and reaching an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces.

For his part, President al-Sharaa expressed his gratitude to the Kurdistan Region President and the leadership of the Kurdistan Region for their continued efforts and support in promoting peace and helping address regional challenges.
