US-Israeli Airstrikes Target PMF Positions in Iraq

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Monday that joint airstrikes by United States and Israel targeted two of its military positions in Iraq.

According to a statement issued by the PMF, the first strike occurred at 2:38 a.m. local time, when the Ninewa Operations Command headquarters in the Hazr area was hit. A second airstrike followed shortly afterward at 3:00 a.m., targeting the 4th Division under the Northern and Eastern Tigris Operations Command, located near Hilla Airport in the Khormato district.

The PMF stated that no casualties were reported as a result of the attacks.

The strikes come amid an ongoing military campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, which began on February 28. Since the start of the operation, the conflict has spread across the region, with several PMF positions in Iraq reportedly coming under repeated airstrikes.

In previous incidents, the PMF said that multiple fighters were killed in similar attacks. The current campaign is widely viewed as an effort to weaken Iran’s regional influence and military infrastructure, particularly groups aligned with Tehran operating in Iraq, Syria, and other parts of the Middle East.
