IRGC Intelligence Chief Killed in Israeli Airstrike

The intelligence chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Majid Khademi, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike, according to regional officials.

The strike marks a significant blow to Iran’s security establishment as the confrontation between Israel and Iran continues.

Meanwhile, officials say both Iran and the United States have received a proposal for a 45-day ceasefire that would include reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.

US President Donald Trump warned that Washington could bomb Iran’s infrastructure if Tehran refuses to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The comments drew criticism from several Democratic lawmakers in the United States who called for diplomacy instead of escalation.

Elsewhere, Iranian strikes targeted the Israeli port city of Haifa, where authorities say two people remain missing following a deadly attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also suggested that Israel assisted the United States in rescuing a missing American airman whose aircraft had been shot down during recent hostilities.

In Iran, at least 13 people were killed in an airstrike near Tehran, while gas outages were reported across the capital after a strike hit a university facility, raising concerns about damage to civilian infrastructure.
