President Masoud Barzani participated in the traditional Newroz fire-lighting ceremony in the city of Erbil on Friday evening, marking the beginning of the Kurdish New Year.

The ceremony was held at the historic Erbil Citadel, where large numbers of citizens gathered to celebrate the annual festival of Newroz.

Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, along with several government officials and local residents, attended the celebration.

During the ceremony, President Masoud Barzani lit the traditional Newroz fire, symbolizing renewal, hope, and the beginning of a new year for the Kurdish people. The event formed part of the wider Newroz celebrations taking place across the Kurdistan Region.
