CENTCOM Releases Data on Scale of “Operation Epic Fury” Military Campaign
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has released new data detailing the scope of Operation Epic Fury, a military campaign launched against Iran on February 28. The figures provide insight into the operational scale, including the number of flights conducted, targets struck, and military assets deployed.
According to the data, U.S. forces have carried out more than 8,000 combat flights and struck over 7,800 targets since the start of the operation. The report also indicates that more than 120 Iranian naval vessels have been damaged or destroyed during the campaign.
CENTCOM stated that the operation focused primarily on Iranian military and defense infrastructure. The reported targets include:
Command and control centers
Headquarters buildings of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
Intelligence facilities
Integrated air defense systems
Ballistic missile sites
Iranian navy ships and submarines
Anti-ship missile installations
Military communication networks
Drone and missile manufacturing facilities
Weapons production and storage bunkers
Surface-to-air missile facilities
Military support infrastructure
U.S. Military Assets Involved
The operation involved a range of U.S. military capabilities across air, sea, and land forces.
Strategic bombers used in the campaign include the B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, and B-52 Stratofortress. Fighter aircraft deployed include the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-22 Raptor, and F-35 Lightning II.
Other aircraft involved include the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft, electronic warfare platforms such as the EA-18G Growler and EC-130H Compass Call, and reconnaissance aircraft including the Lockheed U-2 and RC-135 Rivet Joint.
Support operations were carried out by refueling aircraft like the KC-135 Stratotanker and KC-46 Pegasus, as well as cargo aircraft such as the C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules. Helicopters including the AH-64 Apache and MH-60 Seahawk, the tilt-rotor V-22 Osprey, and early warning aircraft E-2D Hawkeye were also used.
Naval forces involved in the operation include nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, guided-missile destroyers, nuclear-powered submarines, and supply and refueling ships.
Ground-based systems deployed include the Patriot missile defense system, the THAAD missile defense system, and the M142 HIMARS rocket system, along with counter-drone technologies.
The data released by CENTCOM highlights the scale and operational complexity of Operation Epic Fury, outlining the number of sorties flown, the range of targets struck, and the variety of military assets involved in the campaign.
