The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has announced an extended official holiday for public institutions across the Kurdistan Region to mark the celebrations of Newroz and Eid al-Fitr.

According to the official calendar of the KRG, all government institutions will suspend regular operations from Thursday, 19 March, until Sunday, 29 March 2026. The decision allows citizens and employees to observe both the Kurdish New Year and the Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan.

Authorities emphasized that essential public services will remain operational during the holiday period. Relevant institutions will continue to function on a duty-based system to ensure that necessary services for the public are maintained.

Regular working hours for government offices are expected to resume after the holiday period ends.
