US–Israel Strikes Intensify in Tehran and Beirut as War Enters Seventh Day
The conflict in the Middle East entered its seventh day on Friday as Israel and the United States launched a new wave of widespread strikes targeting infrastructure in Tehran, according to Israeli military sources.
The Israeli military announced that it carried out a “broad” series of airstrikes on the Iranian capital, focusing on what it described as strategic infrastructure sites. The overnight operations were part of an escalating campaign against Iran amid rising regional tensions.
At the same time, Israeli forces also pounded the southern suburbs of Beirut, an area widely regarded as a stronghold of Iranian-backed groups. The strikes mark an expansion of the conflict beyond Iranian territory and into Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Iranian state television reported that a leadership council convened an emergency meeting to discuss the selection of the country’s next supreme leader, signaling deep concern within Iran’s political establishment as the crisis intensifies.
In Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump adopted a hardline stance, saying the United States was not seeking negotiations with Tehran but demanding “unconditional surrender.”
Speaking earlier to U.S. media, Trump claimed that Iran had “lost everything” in the confrontation and indicated that the U.S. military campaign had no fixed time limit, suggesting that operations could continue for as long as necessary.
