PM Masrour Barzani Celebrates Linguistic Diversity on International Mother Language Day
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Masrour Barzani extended his congratulations to the people of the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the region’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity.
In a message posted on social media, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Kurdistan Region takes pride in its diverse languages and cultures. He noted that all components of Kurdistan are able to freely speak and celebrate their mother tongues, describing linguistic diversity as a source of strength and unity.
International Mother Language Day, observed annually on February 21, promotes the preservation and protection of all languages used by peoples around the world. The Kurdistan Region is home to multiple ethnic and religious communities, each contributing to the region’s cultural and linguistic heritage.
Barzani’s message reaffirmed the regional government’s support for cultural coexistence and respect for linguistic rights across Kurdistan.
