President Masoud Barzani on Friday, 6 February 2026, received Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in Pirmam, according to an official statement.

The meeting focused on the situation in Western Kurdistan (Rojava), the implementation of the agreement reached between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the latest political and security developments in Syria.

During the talks, President Barzani emphasized the importance of fully implementing the provisions of the agreement and called for sustained coordination among all relevant parties. He stressed that such cooperation is essential to safeguarding and strengthening the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria during the coming stages, within the framework of a constitutional process.

The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilize northern Syria and address long-standing political and governance challenges affecting Kurdish communities in the country.
