President Masoud Barzani received a phone call on Sunday evening from Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, during which the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Syria.

According to the details of the call, President al-Sharaa reviewed the substance of the agreement reached with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stressing his commitment to respecting and protecting the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria. He also emphasized addressing disputes and outstanding issues in line with existing agreements.

President Barzani, for his part, underscored the importance of guaranteeing the rights of the Kurdish people, describing the presidential decree issued by the Syrian president concerning Kurdish rights as a positive and important step. He noted that the decree could form a solid and constructive basis for safeguarding Kurdish rights in Syria and contributing to long-term stability.
