On Monday, President Masoud Barzani held two separate meetings addressing Iraq’s political situation and reaffirming his support for the country’s diverse social and religious components.

In Pirmam, President Barzani received a delegation from the Al-Sadiqoun Movement, headed by Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Deputy Secretary-General of the movement. The meeting focused on the current political situation in Iraq, the steps being taken in the post-election phase, and ways to enhance coordination and cooperation among political parties.

Earlier the same day in Birmana, President Barzani met with Mr. Sam Darmo, head of the “Assyrians for Justice” foundation in the United States. Mr. Darmo praised President Barzani’s role and his continued support for religious and ethnic components, expressing gratitude for his patronage of the Assyrian Martyrs’ Memorial, whose cornerstone was laid the previous day. He described the project as a historic milestone for the Assyrian community.

President Barzani reaffirmed his full support for the Assyrians and all other components, stressing that since the era of Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani and Sheikh Ahmed Barzani, efforts have been made to uphold equality, justice, and the rights of all nationalities and religions in Kurdistan.

Both meetings also included discussions on the political developments in Iraq and the wider region, as well as the broader changes and transformations currently underway.
