Kurdistan PM Extends Christmas Greetings, Reaffirms Commitment to Coexistence

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Wednesday extended Christmas greetings to Christians in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and around the world, underscoring his government’s commitment to peaceful coexistence among the region’s diverse communities.

In a statement marking the birth of Jesus Christ, Barzani conveyed his best wishes for a holiday filled with joy and prosperity, and reaffirmed the KRG’s dedication to strengthening social harmony and intercommunal solidarity.

He stressed the importance of reinforcing bonds of brotherhood and mutual respect among all religious and ethnic components of the Kurdistan Region, describing coexistence as a cornerstone of stability and unity.

Christians constitute one of the historic communities of the Kurdistan Region, which has long portrayed itself as a haven for religious and ethnic diversity in Iraq.

Barzani concluded his message by wishing Christians a Merry Christmas and continued well-being in the year ahead.
